Choosing Art for Your Home Remodel: Inspiration from a Pasadena Project
In the Dining Room, we purchased these prints from an online art vendor. It complimented the space well. The grey leaves in the prints picked up the tones of the grey finish on the dining table, while the brown leaves did the same with the chairs. And the natural elements in the print spoke to my client.
In the Bedroom, we purchased a piece of embroidered fabric with this fun contemporary floral design and stretched it on a canvas, then had it framed. The texture and colors were perfect for the space.
In the Living Room, we found these art pieces from Pheromone (unfortunately no longer in business) of studies of Butterflies, Cretaceous Ammonite, and Eocene Fossil Fish. These really spoke to my client as his profession was forensic pathologist.
Also in the Living Room was this large poster of the Titanic. The print is a detailed dissection of each floor plan of the Titanic ship. My client had this rolled up in a tube that he had previously purchased, and we had it framed for this large wall.
And then last, but certainly not all the art we used in his home was this painting that he had in his garage that he showed me one day that his late mother had painted. It was dirty and in bad need or refurbishing. I found an art restoration specialist in the area and had him take it there to get it cleaned up and framed. It looks great in his Office.
I also work with an Art Curation company occasionally to help my clients find exactly what they want for their artwork. This company can connect them with artists that will create private commissions that specifically meets their desires.
